With the introduction of smartphone and tablet touch devices, multitouch monitor technology has become commonplace with consumers and the method of interaction has become more established. The term Multi-touch refers to a monitor’s ability to recognize the presence of two or more contact points on the surface of the device. Windows and Mac operating systems can therefore use multitouch screens to support advanced functionality and screen gestures such as multi-finger swipe, scroll, pan, flick, spread, rotate and pinch zoom. Sentios Technology delivers the same type of multitouch screen technology but on larger displays which can be used for product browsing and manipulation of 3D product images. Multitouch monitor displays are also excellent for swipe gestures when scrolling through lists and pictures or turning pages on a virtual book or magazine. With some models, we also offer a zero bezel multi touch display, similar to that found on Apple touch products, which make them very easy to clean and aesthetically beautiful. |

Multi-touch is achievable by a variety of touch technologies and is utilised extensively in many modern smartphone and tablet devices such as the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod. Multi-touch technology enables user interface gestures which enhance a PC operator’s user experience and improves functionality and productivity. In addition to basic click and right click gestures, using a multitouch monitor, users are able to use swipe gestures using one to five fingers to execute a variety of different commands. With the appropriate supporting operating system, more complex touch gestures are possible such as pinch and zoom to quickly increase or decrease image sizes without the use of a keyboard or mouse. Users can also use gestures to scroll and rotate 3d imagery on screen, and to stretch and manipulate diagrams and images. Many operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows 7 and Apple Lion OS support multiple concurrent gesture features at once to provide the customer with high levels of functionality and visibility of complex 3d images. Multitouch screen monitors supporting gestures such as these are ideal for complex graphic design and 3-dimentional modelling as images can be easily manipulated.
